Faith is the acting out of our obedience

All we have to do is obey, every Word from the mouth of Jesus and we will be acting out faith.

This is why it is said, "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.." because all the instructions are written.

The demonstration being Peter walking on the water. As long as his eyes remained on Jesus, fear could not enter him. The minute he looked at fear, it overcame him and he was no longer acting in obedience and therefore stopped producing the faith.

We step into the driver's seat for the first time, having never turned the key in all our lives, but we turn the key because the instructor told us to, and we believe his instruction. By acting out those things we are instructed to do, the action causes the proper affect.

After many years of practice, and many thousands of times turning that key to start the car, we are now doing it automatically. Which is probably why we blow off the handle, when the car fails to start. Our faith action is not being obeyed.

A horse already has all the muscle power it needs, to carry a rider and to perform powerful action. His mind needs training in order to cause this package of muscles to perform according to his riders will. Practice comes every day until the reaction to commands becomes automatic, which pleases the trainer. The horse is taught to trust the judgment of the rider and the rider never fails to keep the horses feet from plunging through a hole in the ground, so the horse learns to trust the rider.

As long as the horse continues, in pattern of obedience, all is well until the day that horse shies away from a tiny piece of paper, bolts and throws the rider. Suddenly all is not well and the goal is not being accomplished . The horse has suddenly put himself into position of the safeguard and decision maker. All is it not well.

The goal being, absolute obedience from the horse, trust in the riders decisions, and faithfulness on the part of the rider. All goes forward and with great speed.

This does not require the horse to love us, nor to have great emotions about it.  It requires obedience and learning what actions go with what commands.

Much Love,
Judy

"Obedience" is indeed a requirement, and we all have trouble with it.  Some of the trouble comes not just from our rebellion to authority, but from not knowing what "Obedience in Faith" requires.  For Light on this subject, see the subjects on "Faith" in the "Articles for the Overcomers".
